Loops exists because the fediverse needed a short video platform.
While I could have implemented this in Pixelfed, we could no longer claim Pixelfed was algorithm free, or we could without the For You Feed, but that is what most people want.
I made the right choice!
Pixelfed does support video, and that will improve, but we shouldn't alienate the photo centric nature just to get more users.
We're not driven by metrics, we care about people.
So let them choose.
