周一（23日）上午11時許，警方接獲位於旺角彌敦道673號的滙豐銀行職員報案，指一名男子懷疑在櫃檯企圖存入一張面值1億港元的懷疑偽鈔，職員察覺有異後報警求助。
警員接報趕至現場，於該名57歲、姓陳、持雙程證的內地男子身上，檢獲該張1億元懷疑偽鈔。進一步搜查時，人員再發現一張面值5億元的假鈔，以及兩張面值100萬元的所謂「回歸紀念鈔」。據了解，涉案偽鈔當中包括標示為「債券」的假紙幣。
陳男涉嫌「行使偽製紙幣」及「管有偽製紙幣」兩項罪名被捕，現正被扣留調查。案件交由旺角警區刑事調查隊第二隊跟進。
