Okay so language question. When Japanese speakers onomatopoeize "Bang", it sounds to me like they are saying "Pan". Are they saying "Pan" or "Ban", or are they saying "Bang" and it just sounds to me like "Pan" due to my limited familiarity with Japanese phonetics?

I had an earlier post about municipalities leaving X and joining Mastodon and a thought occurred to me.
Cities and towns could benefit from having their own instance running #Friendica - the closest #Fediverse equivalent to Meta/Facebook. It would allow them to have separate groups for neighborhoods or communities within their municipality, and integrate easily with other Fediverse apps. It would give them more control and focus for their communications.
AI developers who were willing to cause a hiring crisis and make workers and customers more miserable suddenly shocked their money is coming from unscrupulous military leaders who want just to use it for concentration camps and dubious military strikes.

Oh fucking FINALLY, I got Copilot to shut up in VSCode (don't @ me ... Work nonsense). Intellisense is legit one of the best code completion tools on the market. And they replaced it with this nonsense that hallucinates more often than it's true.

wir stellen bei uns allen elektrolyseure statt wärmepumpen in die keller. die erzeugen wärme zum heizen und der entstehende wasserstoff wird übers gasnetz ab- und „der industrie“ zugeführt.
bin mir sicher, da ist irgendwo nen ziemlich offensichtliches problem, bin normalerweise nicht so clever, dass ich als erster auf sowas komme. aber was ist es?
