@smallcircles🫧 socialcoding.. I do not want to criticize the idea of social Software in any way. 🤲 But:
Most of us are doing software engineering as a job. This does and will mean that Software needs to earn money. Every time a company decides to do something open source, and I mean truly open, not just *source-available*, they do that out of the goodness of their heart.
And what we really need to do is educate companies and leaders. Free/Libre software rarely means less profit, but they think it does.
@torgerosTorge Rosendahl for sure! There is nothing I disagree with in what you say. It is just that there are many intricate forces and aspects to take into account where it comes to (F)OSS, 'world improvement', and transitioning to a society that is able to live sustainably with its environenment / has a future.

My general argument, I guess, is that we tend to dictate way too many virtues to the fact that something is (F)OSS. Software freedom is a great quality, but only one piece of a larger puzzle.
If we drop the towel after #WorkingInPublic until #ItsFoss we won't be able to let our work bring most benefit to society, in a direction beyond festering #hypercapitalism

In order for #Canada to obtain #DigitalSovereignty we need more than just #SocialMedia apps that are outside the control of US companies, we need digital infrastructure.
The Government of Canada should establish 'Canadian Web Services' (CWS) as a crown corporation offering everything AWS currently does but hosted in Canada and protected by solid privacy legislation. This would ensure that Canadian's (and foreigners) who need access to the services AWS offers can get them without putting their data under US jurisdiction.

내장에 대한 처리를 하지 않고 그냥 포르말린 용엑에 절임
2004년에 상어가 부패하는 일이 있어서 내장을 빼내 껍데기만 유지하는 방식을 시도 → 껍데기가 쭈그러져서 그냥 새로운 상어를 전시
1회 교체작업이 있었음 더진한 포르말린 용액에 담가뒀다고 함
살아있는 자의 마음속에 있는 죽음의 물리적 불가능성<이라는 이름으로 상어 내장은 죽음을 향해서 가고있었던 것

自分が生成AIで写真編集してみた結果。生成AIの話題なので苦手な方は閲覧控えてください。
ChatGPTが画像生成できると知ってから、自分なりにどういう活用できるか考えてみた結果、こういう作品を作ってみました。自分が撮った写真に、イメージ描き足しという表現。
使いようによってですが、「想像を形にできるツール」としては面白いかなと思いました。
Sometimes you hit UX so bad you're just left wondering *how* the developers messed up so hard. Like "had to actively spend time and effort disabling default platform behaviour" bad, so it can't be adequately explained through the usual means of "too much to do in not enough time".

I can see these Camera features becoming their own standalone app, without any authentication or login, allowing you to download, or share to other apps via intents.
It could even support AltStore and F-Droid, since everything is handled/processed locally.
No promises though, we'll see how busy I am this summer 😅

Building a camera that supports AR filters, along with common controls like using the back or front facing camera, enabling flash and supporting drag up/down to zoom, while maintaining 60fps isn't easy.
The fact you can do this with javascript (and swift for AR) is pretty magical.
We do have some limitations, like enabling flash on the front camera, that requires some clever logic that uses the screen as a ring light.
That will be shipping in the next release!
