Until then I don't see what I'd get out of it. I'm good at programming, so all I would be doing is sacrificing my own credibility to prop up theirs. Then there's the skill atrophy problem. I worked hard to develop my skills, and I don't see why I should throw that away for nothing. And of course if these products actually worked as they are hyped to, nobody is going to pay me a livable salary to be a bot janitor long term.

half the jobs I've had in my career involved working in a programming language that I had learned (or re-learned) in a week prior to the interview, to a degree of competence that I could talk intelligently about non-trivial aspects of the language, and demonstrate non-trivial tasks idiomatically. these languages were C#, Ruby, and C++.
