I just went through my Twitter archive from 2007-2022 and used a simple Python script to see who I interacted with most. Here are the top 10 people from my archive. I couldn't be more pleased (and not really surprised) So exciting they all appear to be on Mastodon. Below is the the list with Twitter handle, count. I've found your mastodon handles below.

Oh, and if I was “thrilled” about the preceding, I am *beside myself* to at long last be able to share with you the fruit of almost a year’s effort: the first three episodes of Lifepod, the podcast about taking care of ourselves in a world on fire.

The conversations we’ll be having on Lifepod further explore the ideas in “Lifehouse,” about organizing ourselves to survive the reality (and interlocking, cascading consequences) of climate-system collapse, with our concern for dignity, care and the achievement of justice at the center of everything we do.

These first episodes consist of an overview from me, and conversations with Valeria Graziano & Tom Medak of the Pirate Care collective (e01) & Chris Smaje (e02).

Audio production and editing on Lifepod are by Laurence Green. Graphic and type design by Chris Lee. The music consists of excerpts from “Living is Easy,” by LA’s Agriculture, with their kind permission.

Please enjoy Lifepod, and share as you will!

The first-season logo for Lifepod, the podcast about taking care of ourselves in a world on fire.

I imagine Lifepod will be of interest to anyone who’s concerned with , , , and so on — it’s a living inscription of what I’ve always thought of as “a with teeth.”

In addition to the RSS feed linked above, you can also find a rudimentary show page at

Please do let me know how you get on with the show, at hellolifepod at protonmail.com — I’m hugely interested in your feedback, comments and suggestions for improvement. 👊

…and second, I am *thrilled* to share the news that I’ve been appointed Visiting Professor at the Sociology Department at LSE through March 2027. (Whaaaaaaaat?) Currently scheming about ways to leverage this appointment to do fun stuff, and open to suggestion.

i made this transparent PNG of a drawing of a log that says "logs" on it thinking i could use it for a website thing (perhaps for a log page?). but i couldn't find anywhere to put it (i don't have a log page!)

i hereby release it into the public domain! if you want to use it, you can do so without any restrictions or attribution.

I can’t stop thinking about Nurul Shah Alam, the disabled refugee who died after Border Patrol left him outside in the cold with no way to contact friends or family.

It took five days for him to die.

He was blind and didn’t speak English.

They took the pole he was using as a cane.

This man survived an actual genocide only to be killed by the incompetence and cruelty of the Trump regime.

Five days of wandering around lost, sick and disoriented.

It was all preventable.

They could have taken him home.

They could have called his family.

They could have refused to leave him for dead.

Say his name. Don’t ever forget what they did.

So Duo (the multifactor authentication service that loves) has integrated with Persona (the privacy destroying, Peter Thiel backed, AI-linked, facial scanning and mapping "identity verification" software)

You know the recent Discord snafu that received such massive pushback and caused so many people to leave Discord that they've dropped their identity verification?

Yeah, that Persona.

Duo integrates it into Duo Premier, Duo Advantage, and even Duo Essentials...

...which means many working class folks will have no option but to be enrolled into and use Persona...

...or be fired.

@Crookie - Actually. It will.

You push back against your rep, and they log it and report it in their meetings.

One of the major jobs of a customer service and sales rep is to document and report on current client trends and perceptions.

Push back. And continue to push back. Make it their problem so they pass the problem on.

They change their product and offerings all the time to get more money from clients. If clients are pushing back, threatening not to spend more money, they will alter their actions to get more money.

The bottom line is the bottom line for a reason.

The best thing you can do in light of the Ellison takeover of Warner Brothers invest your time, energy, and money in supporting independent creators and independent distribution networks and independent venues. It is absolutely crucial to make independence a viable option.

I've been battling an insertional Achilles tendinopathy since late October 2025. Despite every precaution, I keep encountering setbacks. This despite a marathon coming up in May and 50K in September.

So I finally got around to setting up my bike and smart trainer last night and did my first ride during lunch.

I'm familiar with running power, so cycling power is familiar territory. But what's up with this chatty data? Good hell.

Screenshot of the Suunto mobile app showing a chart of heart rate and power plotted together over an hour.

I told everyone I was chaotic good! I did! 💛

The Verdict: If the listener is watching the video feed on YouTube or the TWiT site, this is easily an 8.5 or 9 out of 10 because Atwood's visual gags and frantic office backdrop are highly entertaining.

However, for a traditional audio-only podcast listener—who might find the visual-heavy prop comedy frustrating and the early tangents a bit jarring—it balances out to a 7.5. It is a deeply fascinating, uniquely chaotic interview that requires just a little bit of patience from the listener before delivering the "pearls."
