These were - especially once #Fidonet came along the first decentralized and literally federated social media platforms. I do expect there was likely some lessons learned back then which could inform future choices of the open social web we have today.

Does anybody know what web sites I could go to to find some sloppy hot takes about current events? Because Mastodon and the entire concept of the fediverse is magically impervious to those on principle, I'm going through a lot of withdrawal today. It's like a desert out here!
Considering the audience of this network, I suppose I need to explicitly point out that the preceding post was _sarcasm_, and that I'm seeing just as much of the content here as I would on literally any other platform.
That's the point. The point is that they're not different in reality, You can tell yourself they are, but you're wrong, and giant sudden news stories reveal that to everybody, so you should stop telling the general public that The Fediverse is a flowering, sunny, green utopia.

You know what's funny to me is that qualitative methods ALSO kill people all the time (bad eyewitness interviews, horrible case reports re: foreign policy, arguably more bad qualitative stuff is being used in damaging ways than stats ever is) but we don't really see those as methods so we don't blame the methods like we do with stats.

I'm working on flash programming for Jaytag. Should I provide flash programming bitstreams for all supported parts? If so, I'm not sure how best to distribute them. Potentially hundreds of MB. I'm not seeing a great answer with Rust's Cargo, don't even really want them in the main Git repo, don't want a Vivado build dependency.
There will be a flash programmer that can be included in your actual FPGA project too which uses minimal LUTs, 1 BRAM.

「風邪が治らなくって。あ、検査で陰性なのでコロナでもインフルでもないです」という声もよく聞くけど、その検査って抗原検査では。PCRよりだいぶ感度低いし、自分で検査して薄い線を見落としていたりとかもある。
「PCRはあてにならない」「PCRの大量検査は百害あって一利無し」みたいなことを盛んに言ってたセンモンカの方々、人々が、まさにあてにならない抗原検査の陰性結果だけを都合よく信用していることに対しては何も言わない。
