also, you know what is a great way to get a bunch of people to apply for a job? you announce a job opening it's a straightforward as that

1. have her wait half a year to start doing that 2. let her go do that and have someone else do the operational stuff while you look for a replacement

I think Jay Graeber's biggest accomplishment: she allowed the Bluesky engineering team to follow their hearts on what they saw as pursuing the best design. Not easy to do given all the other pressures in the role.

in non-meme poisoned form: this new CEO job is *temporary*. the details about the person who's about to be CEO for a bit are almost irrelevant. what matters is whoever gets the actual permanent job. all of this is very normal corporate stuff. you can't read into the tea leaves

"Autocorrect" is now "autoadjusting", consistently. By which I mean it's replacing perfectly good words with other words, which then make no sense, and convince me I'm losing my fine motor skills.

I tend to look at my hands or out the window while I'm typing so I don't catch it, but now I'm trying to watch the text while I type and I see it happen. Fast little changes where it will take something like, "A little pen with a mouse and bear," and change it to, "A little pan with a mouse and bear," and I SEE IT change 'pen' to 'pan'. Like...why? Pen is a perfectly cromulent word.
