@ariadneAriadne Conill 🐰:therian: @mirth Call me old-fashioned, but I don't like to talk to my house. I'm lazy and I like to control the lights from the sofa, that's why I've got a few remote controlled switches. A few more lights are controlled by a Raspberry Pi via GPIO, and I use simple command line tools to control those, I wrote them in Python without any LLM, and I access them from any device on the LAN via SSH.

A small update on NetBSD Cells 🙂

I’ve spent some time recently polishing things up and have updated the project page. I also built a new evaluation DVD image so it’s easier to try the current state of the project.

It now includes a few of the things I’ve been working on lately, like the reconcile engine in cellmgr, some early volume and backup management, and cellui for interactive administration.

If you’re curious about where the project currently stands, I wrote a short status report here:
petermann-digital.de/en/blog/n

Project page and download:

Feedback, thoughts, and questions are always very welcome.

Before the 12" MacBook, before the 11" MacBook Air, there was the 9" ASUS Eee PC hackintosh, and there were a number of new-to-macOS developers in our community who learned how to develop for iPhone on this very setup, and started their careers from it.

The Eee PC 901 netbook was priced at, you guessed it, the same $599 as the brand-new incredibly-powerful MacBook Neo
