My brother in Christ have you ever actually been around a child?? They will straight up ambush you with the most unhinged, bonkers, nihilist questions with a completely straight face. Questions that will cause grown adults to have an existential crisis if you think about them too long. Just yesterday in class a student stopped in the middle of playing a scale to ask me how does she even know if I exist or not and I had to sit quietly in a corner with that one for like an hour. PLEASE let me explain the gay. Explain the gay is fucking easy.

1. I'm happy Astral got their exit (which we all knew was the end goal)
2. I'm glad no one will accuse me of trying to kill the company anymore by working on standards or saying there are other workflow tools
3. I'm taking a wait-and-see view (e.g. Astral already said more AI is coming to their tools blog.pamelafox.org/2026/03/lea.)
4. I'm going to continue to work on standards for a baseline workflow experience to make my kid happy someday

At this point I'm convinced that there's something deeply wrong with how our society treats technology.

Ruining Android for everyone to try to maybe help some rather technologically-hopeless groups of people is the wrong solution. It's unsustainable in the long run. Also, the last thing this world needs right now is even more centralization of power. Especially around yet another US company. (1/2)
