a year or two ago, I tried to, ahem, *obtain* a certain uncommon book, but I couldn't find a PDF anywhere.

I just found it accidentally while trying to *obtain* an entirely different book. Which I can't find, so I assume it'll turn up in a year while looking for something only vaguely related...
