1: powerlock is a 5 cable three-phase connction system for high power applications, e.g. 3 phase 100 amps
it features mechanical interlocks to ensure that ground and neutral are connected before the phases

2: in grid applications, fuses are coupled so that if a single phase trips, the other two phases will trip as well. In higher voltage (e.g. 11kv) lines, this may be done e.g. with springs and explosive charges. if a fuse trips, that releases a spring, that hits a primer and fires some charges to cleanly separate the other two phases
