The twin NASA ESCAPADE spacecraft, Blue and Gold, are communicating with mission control via the 34 meter antenna at DSN Madrid, over X-band, downlink data rate = 8 kbps.

Note that the twin spacecraft will spend a year in a staging kidney bean-shaped orbit that goes out beyond the Sun-Earth L2 point 1.5 mil km away.

We have successfully established contact with both ESCAPADE spacecraft, ๐Ÿ’™ Blue and ๐Ÿ’› Gold, following launch on Blue Origin's New Glenn rocket today. 

We're on our way to Mars to enable NASA and UC Berkeley Space Sciences Lab to study the Martian magnetosphere!
