The twin NASA ESCAPADE spacecraft, Blue and Gold, are communicating with mission control via the 34 meter antenna at DSN Madrid, over X-band, downlink data rate = 8 kbps.

Note that the twin spacecraft will spend a year in a staging kidney bean-shaped orbit that goes out beyond the Sun-Earth L2 point 1.5 mil km away.

🛰️🛰️ The twins are talking!

We have successfully established contact with both ESCAPADE spacecraft, 💙 Blue and 💛 Gold, following launch on Blue Origin's New Glenn rocket today.

We're on our way to Mars to enable NASA and UC Berkeley Space Sciences Lab to study the Martian magnetosphere!
