Don’t forget: You’re entitled to 3 consecutive hours work-free to get to the polls. And you can always register at the poll if you haven’t had a chance ahead, if you’ve moved, if there was an error. As a first-time Poll worker this year - I was very impressed how the Prime Directive we all got was “comply with whatever procedure gets the elector their ballot, in any way possible!”
Some more Canadian election tips (since I found out my sister hadn't voted last time because she didn't think she had proof of address):
If you don't have ID with your current address, most moderately official mail or documents should do, including electronic bank/utility statements.
If you still don't have enough documents, anyone else who is registered to vote in the same polling station (even if they just registered with ID!) can vouch for you.
