Eine Insel erhebt sich aus dem Meer, kleinere Wellen schlagen ans Ufer. Menschen stehen auf einer winzigen Landzunge und fotografieren die spektakuläre Gesteinsformation von Staffa. Es sind rechteckige Basaltsäulen aus Lavagestein, die eine doppelt so große Steinmasse tragen. Das Meer ist blau, der Himmel darüber mit vielen kleineren weißgrauen Wolken überzogen, gelborangefarbene Algen und ihre Ablagerungen färben die Uferzone. Das Gestein wechselt von grauschwarz zu grün-grau, mit Moosen und Flechten überzogen.

An island rises out of the sea, small waves lapping at the shore. People stand on a tiny headland and take photos of the spectacular rock formation of Staffa. These are rectangular basalt columns made of lava rock, supporting a stone mass twice their size. The sea is blue, the sky above is covered with many small white-gray clouds, and yellow-orange algae and their deposits color the shore. The rock changes from gray-black to green-gray, covered with moss and lichen.
