One thing that blows my mind about this:

You can get an 800W balcony solar system for €229 from a grocery store.

At an average cost of €0.38/kWh in Germany, this system pays for itself once it produces 603 kWh of power, which takes 753 hours of full sun.

A German summer has roughly 1400 hours of daylight.

Means this pays for itself over less than two summer months.
