I was thinking about procedural map generation. Specifically, procedural plants, cities, and facilities.

To me, there are a few factors that make these kinds of maps challenging, but the biggest one is that we have a very naive approach to what a "map" is.

Most of the time we think in terms of biomes or simulation, but in order to be useful as a playspace, the player's attention needs to be considered.
