@lcamtuflcamtuf @nothacking Especially when you consider that both decimals and fractions are representation, and this isn't the only case where we use a simplified, but "good enough" version of an irrational number.

I think this is also a case where people are picking up a subtle communication issue when dealing with the numbers. If I write "9/9", I mean "Broken into nine parts, and we have all nine.". If I write "0.99999999...", I'm far more likely to mean "We're juuuuuuust under 1"
