This is the theory of most PR firms in film. This was intentional harm done with a focus on drawing more attention to a loser, shitty film no one saw, and had nowhere near the traction Sinners had. He made sure to target ONLY the Black actors and cast of the movie as well.

Also, BAFTA let it run because racial violence against Black people would put them ahead of Olympics dominated press.

@ErickaSimone@mastodon.social The people around him, including the film director, knew what they were doing, all to ‘bring awareness’ to the disability and especially their film. They knew he was prone to do this or worse, that he would! do this. I’m pretty damn sure this wasn’t the first time but they knew this would give them the biggest visibility hit, all on the backs of the black community while expecting that very community to be okay with it. Unreal and fully underlying white supremacist shit.
