Behind paywall , but the short version , #Signal is secure enough for most people, at the same time nothing is 100% secure, your device can be compromised, a member of a group chat can leak 😉 etcetera, for ordinary people and not top-secret communications , Signal is an excellent choice. Ofcourse there are also other good choices.
(WhatsApp, Apple , Google etc are not however...)
