@KatyElphinstone Perhaps I’m betting on a stereotype here, and YMMV, but are there a board game meetups, anime clubs, entomology associations, or similar special interest organisation (whatever floats tou boat) in Belfast? It’d supprise me if a city of 350k people did not have at least one.

Not an answer to the question you asked exactly, but my very brief experience with ND org. meetups is that having the same difficulties with the world is not necessarily a good basis for friendships.

@jordgubbenJordgubben 🍓🫠 @KatyElphinstone having the same way of communicating and showing empathy is a good start though. Just infodump on your favorite topic and see who bites.

Frame 1: cartoon showing wide eyed character standing with arms ridged in a strange way. Text says: “being an oddball with hyper specitic interests”
Frame 2: cartoon showing person from previous frame meeting someone with the same wide eyes and strange stance, with magnet attraction lines in between.
Text says: “Finding another hyper specific oddball”
Frame 3: shows normal humans having drinks and a normal conversation.
Frame 4: shows the “normal” humans suddenly noticing the two oddballs from frame 2, and saying “Oh god.”
