June 5 is "65 Roses" day. In 1965, Mary Weiss was raising funds for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. Her 4-year-old son, Richard overheard her on the phone, and said, "I know what you are doing." Mary's heart sank. Richard didn't know he and his brothers had CF. "You are raising money for 65 roses!" he announced.
60 years later, I'm raising money to help another 4 year old. My grandaughter.
