CライブラリーのRubyラッパー作ってると、.allocateしただけのオブジェクトのメソッドを呼ぶとSEGVするように作ってしまうな。でも全メソッドに対してNULLチェック書くのも現実的じゃないし、インスタンスを取得するマクロでも定義してその中でNULLチェックするのがセオリーなのかしら。
