I should have posted this during the holidays, as Pīrāgi (Latvian version of pierogie, filled with bacon and onion) are a popular appetizer. Old photo but all batches of pīrāgi generally look the same — tasty!

A pile of Latvian “pīrāgi”. Rolls that are about 2-3” long, slightly crescent shaped. Filled with bacon and onion. The rolls are basted with egg and then baked. Finished rolls are golden brown, where the egg basting is, and light gold around the rest. Served warm or cold. Go really well any time of day and with any beverage.
