BBC reports on a North Corean Smartphone that has been smuggled to South Corea. It turned out that it not only limits internet access, but also changes words used in messages to a more regime compliant wording. And it creates screenshots on a regular basis that can only be accessed by governmental authorities.

You might say that we’re far away from this and that’s true. But think about MS Recall or the still existing EU plans for chat control. Maybe it will never become as worse in Europe, but history teaches us that everything that can be done, will be done sooner or later unless people stand up against it before it’s too late.
