@dgoodkin@bsd.cafe 1/2 Where do I even start? Lots of companies and people use FreeBSD. We are promoting many of those stories and use cases. There are so many reasons to use it! Security and stability, to name a few. Operating system diversity is incredibly important these days. Verisign just gave a talk on this at the Ottawa FreeBSD Developer summit last week. I can post links later.

@dgoodkin I know and I‘m relentlessly spreading the word for FreeBSD as it’s still my preferred OS. But sometimes it’s annoying when you are trying to convince people of FreeBSD and they respond: But I have Linux, why should I switch to FreeBSD?
My answer is always the beauty and structure of the system. The fact that it’s development is not influenced by commercial interests, the stability that made it the OS of choice for Netflix, Jails, bhyve, the perfect structure, the fact that it’s not using systemd….
There are so many reasons, at least for me.
