I managed to get out to a protest today. I joined another person at a small town across the river and was happy to see more positive than negative hand gestures.
The best part of my day though was taking food to the little free pantry in my town. I only fill the shelves once a week and mostly sneak in and out without people interaction.
Today the park that houses the pantry was busy. After I unloaded and came back to my car I sat for a minute. A young boy came from an apartment across the street. He loaded up with all the food he could carry but kept dropping things. He looked like he didn't know what to do. Just as I was going to get out and bring him a bag another person who was looking for food themselves stopped and picked up the dropped items. He carried them across the street to the boys front door and left them there.
I was touched by his kindness.
There are still people that care about each other.
Thank goodness.
A rose from my garden today.

A pink rose blossom.
