My #artAdventCalendar is running a bit late and out of sorts as to be expected so I thought I’d make it up by starting off with a twofer:

Day 1 - Kamakura Lens Flares

We are deep in a bamboo forest load to the ground as the tall stocks rise up above us. Cutting diagonally in, a mossy green brambly hillside Jax deposes the verticality of these shoots. In the upper right corner, a glowing coral red pink flare, juxtaposes the deep, dark blue greens and purples of the forest

On the left of the frame is a coral red pink, orange, soft, strong lens flare that when paired with the previous image almost seems like a continuation we are looking up stone stairs which ascend to a gate, toned, purple. These steps are framed with banners with caligraphied kana on them. Large cool green trees and foliage surround this ascending path, and the color scheme echoes the previous image
