This started as a vibes-based plein air, that kept lacking that certain something until I came home and a few months later, boldly went for a contrasting sunset instead of daylight.

Rocky coastal unusual colored ink artwork of the ocean. Pink sky and dark blue ocean provide a dusky feel, with rocks in pale mint green in jagged shapes line the coast, the largest of which is pointed and curved like a witch's hat. There is gold shimmer in the inks, both along the rocky green and also in the pink that forms the sky and sea foam. The ocean has much movement and texture to it.

photo of an earlier version of this piece, i hold a postcard sized version of the rocks and the water which is all blues in my hand as i sit on the rocks gazing out at the sea. the rocks at sea are an exact version of the witch's hat rock, and similar but different proportioned versions of the others. there is no pink it's daylight

A moody portrait of a dark haired woman with light brown skin skin through many intersecting angles of candles. She rests her head in her hand and looks into the camera enigmatically. The candles closest to us are out of focus, but her head through them is in focus, giving a nigh voyeuristic feel except her strong and almost harsh gaze in return gives us no power back. She has the control and we are here on her terms. The candles around are all oriented strangely, perspectives which are incongruous and many angled lines. The only things which are straight on is her gaze holding us. The colors are toned very warm peachy firey golds, and navy blue shadows. She wears beaded golden and black long sleeves.
