A new rights-group report reveals that NATO is now facing a severe TNT shortage because vast quantities of Europe’s explosives were funneled into Israel’s genocide on Gaza, The Telegraph reports.
Poland’s Nitro-Chem, Europe’s only TNT producer and the supplier of 90% of the TNT the US uses, has been unable to keep up with global demand after its explosives were used to fill U.S. “bunker buster” bombs dropped on densely populated neighborhoods in Gaza.
The report confirms Nitro-Chem directly supplied TNT and RDX to Israel, with the US sending at least 14,000 MK-84 bombs and 8,700 MK-82 bombs to fuel Israel’s bombardment from October 2023 to mid-2024.
Rights groups are calling on Poland to suspend explosive shipments used in Israel’s attacks on civilians, while Western states rush to rebuild their own TNT production after decades of shutting down domestic plants due to environmental concerns.
