The United Nations said in a new report that Israel is breaching international law by enforcing a system resembling apartheid in the occupied West Bank and East Jerusalem.
The report warns that systematic discrimination against Palestinians has sharply intensified since late 2022, marked by rising violence, repression, and impunity.
UN human rights chief Volker Türk described the situation as a “systematic asphyxiation” of Palestinian rights, citing unlawful killings, mass detentions, settlement expansion, home demolitions, and forced displacement as key features of this discriminatory system.
