The American University of Beirut prevented United Nations Special Rapporteur on Human Rights in the Occupied Palestinian Territories, Francesca Albanese, from entering the campus to deliver a lecture, citing "failure to complete compliance procedures."
Albanese was scheduled to speak at the university after receiving an invitation from the PLSC, an academic research center within the university that focuses on Palestinian issues. However, the university administration did not grant her permission to give the lecture, prompting her to move the event to Saint Joseph University (USJ).
