In response to Israeli reports claiming a surge in Gaza births post genocide, stating over 60,000 births in 2025 compared to 50,000 in 2023, Gaza Health Director Munir Al Bursh dismantled the narrative.
He stated that Israel cites these numbers not in defense of life, but in a transparent attempt to deny the genocide and its targeting of children.
He presented documented facts: births fell by 11%, underweight newborns rose 60%, stillbirths doubled, newborn deaths increased 50%, and congenital deformities spiked. Each of these outcomes is a direct result of Israel's two year campaign of mass slaughter and starvation.
