When asked whether the US would accept responsibility for a Tomahawk missile that destroyed an Iranian girls’ school and killed around 180 children, Trump said:

“I haven’t seen it. And I will say that the Tomahawk, which is one of the most powerful weapons around, is sold and used by other countries… Whether it’s Iran, who also has some Tomahawks, I wish they had more, but whether it’s Iran or somebody else, a Tomahawk is very generic. It’s sold to other countries… but this is being investigated right now.”

The Tomahawk missile is primarily a US weapon. The United States has the largest stockpile and is its main developer, operator, and exporter. Other countries, like the UK, Saudi Arabia, and a few NATO allies, have purchased a limited number of Tomahawks, but these are far fewer than what the US possesses.
