if you're aware of the recent linux fascism ( https://marcan.st/2025/02/resigning-as-asahi-linux-project-lead/ ), allow us to pour some gasoline on the fire,

this is a call for a hostile fork, one that recognizes the hierarchy (the "upstream") is what enabled this to happen, and works to permanently address it. we propose federated maintainership, which doesn't have an upstream, and as such prevents stuff like this from ever happening again.
