LANDSCAPE
From The Tea-Rooms Of Mars... To The Hell-Holes Of Uranus
1981 Canada pressing

THIS is one hell of a weird record, man.

Odd, experimental from London which, on first listening, is a bit disorienting.

It’s quite artful for an early synth pop record; weird time signatures, even weirder tones and noises, with flashes of Devo, M, Gary Numan and nerdy futurism.

It’s a kind of VERY playful art school. Very ironic and dead-pan, and yet, somehow still very danceable in spots.

If you like the band Yellow Magic Orchestra, you may enjoy Landscape.

I don’t pull this album out very often (what a STUPID title!), but every time I do, I’m reminded of how fun it is.

I’ve never seen any of their OTHER two albums, but I’d definitely grab them if I saw them, strictly off my affection for this one.

This was their second.
