Special Weather Statement, Eastern Beaufort Sea Coast; Central Arctic Plains; Central Brooks Range; Romanzof Mountains, 2025-09-17 14:58 AKDT.

Rain and snow will continue to build into the Central/Eastern Brooks Range and eastern Arctic Plains tonight and throughout the day Thursday, transitioning over to predominant snow on Thursday. Snowfall accumulations will be around 2 to 4 inches along the Dalton Highway from MM220 over Atigun Pass to Sagwon, 2 to 4 inches along the Eastern Arctic Coast east of Prudhoe Bay, and 5 to 10 inches across higher elevations of the Brooks Range east of the Dalton Highway. Winds will see an increase tonight into Thursday, leading to areas of blowing snow at times. Should the transition across lower elevations from rain over to snow prove quicker or slower than expected, this would lead to locally higher or lower totals across the eastern Arctic Coast.
