When asked about his chief of staff's description of #AlexPretti as an "assassin," #DonaldTrump responded, "No." Then after a pause, says, "With that being said, you can’t have guns. You can’t walk in with guns. You just can’t. You can’t walk in with guns. You can’t do that."

Today, President Donald Trump said he did not believe Alex Pretti was a would-be assassin, however he said Pretti should not have come to the protest with a gun: “With that being said, you can’t have guns. You can’t walk in with guns. You just can’t. You can’t walk in with guns. You can’t do that. But it’s just a very unfortunate incident.”

Stephen Miller posted on X saying Pretti was trying to assassinate federal agents, which Vice President J.D. Vance reposted. Video does not appear to support that claim, and the administration has received pushback on it.
