It was 15 years ago, so I am not bound anymore by any sort of company loyalty.
The 6502 had bugs, but by 2010, its VHDL implementations were fairly bug-free.
The company I worked at decided we'd use a 6502 as the power orchestrator for the rest of the cores on the IC…
… And to redo it in VHDL from scratch. It's just a 6502, there's no way we can get such a simple thing wrong!
Any guess why I had to write an execution path tracker to check 6052 code for (and thus avoid) specific conditions?
