Today makes another time I've seen instructions for making coffee in a moka pot as follows:
- first heat the water in the water compartment, open (up to just below the valve)
- then add the filter with the coffee and close the moka pot and let brew

And this is asinine. It's unsafe. You'll get burned. Just put the water in the pot, the filter, close the pot and heat on medium until it starts bubbling up. It's a moka pot. Don't be a pretentious jackass.
