All this is still speculative, but getting less so fast.
There's still a window for a complete and extended General Strike in the US to work. The regime's not yet strong enough to put a gun to the entire country's head to get it back to work.
There doesn't however appear to be the will. I can only think the view the average American sees is nothing like what the rest of the world is seeing. If it isn't that, then maybe y'all are what it's saying on the tin.
