Obviously some people don't know some things, but I think Mastodon has inadvertently taught me that it's always better to assume people are doing something harmful because they have no easy alternative first rather than they don't actually know. And by all means inform them if they ask, help them find alternatives if they ask, but generally life is hard, we're all doing the best we can, and it's better to talk about what you're doing than comment on what others are.

And hopefully we're all separately doing our little different bits and they'll eventually join up - the software people are busy making alternatives to the evil corporate stuff that it will eventually be just as easy for the vegans to use, the vegans are making cheap easy meat alternatives more widely available in staff canteens for the cyclists and the cyclists are lobbying for safe cycle lanes to get the software people to work.
