and I've figured how to become a package maintainer.

The learning curve of the language and the system is rather steep, but being able to setup a system in a declarative and reproducible manner is worth a lot in complex software environments.

NixOS has become my daily driver for the past months and I have not had the need to switch back to my previous Linux distro even once.

If you ever had the desire to deploy an OS reliably, I'd strongly recommend it.
