Maybe instead of alcohol, we need to normalize a "Get Out Of Minor Social Awkwardness Free" or GOOMSAF token that you can offer to someone, and if they accept it, you both agree that, for a limited time, you can speak or act more freely without as much insecurity about stepping outside of your safe space.

GOOMSAF rules:

- Must be freely given and received to be valid.

- Token can be initially declined or returned to the giver for a short window after the fact and you both continue as though the whole thing never happened.

- Each token is valid for a discreet, one-time use, and not a blanket permission for awkwardness.

- Tokens are only valid for socially awkward occurances where everyone is acting in good faith.

- Using or receiving a token in bad faith is a socially awkward event that can't be cleared with another token.
