i had a bank account shut down once for a queer play party i ran. PayPal and Stripe are both awful for this- in the end we switched to a high risk payment processor but that's overkill for a tip jar on a vanilla profile...
@echoecho ✨ I've been banned from Paypal for more than a decade. I made an account, used the service for a year or so, then went to pay someone while I was at a conference and saw my account was suspended.
I contacted customer support and they said it was because I was a bot.
I assured them that I was not.
They said "oh, yeah, you don't seem like a bot" and unsuspended my account.
I opened the app and made the payment.
Then got an email saying it was declined and that I was permanently banned from the platform for being a bot.
They didn't return any emails after that.
