As a teacher, I vastly prefer to because swear words present problems in my line of work. I can't host a conversation about with middle school students.

Or rather I can but we'd need to call it something else. It's not a huge deal, and I think the swear word is ... valid in this context. It's a valid response to what has happened to much of the internet.

But, it does present a needless barrier.

It's a paraphrase of Adam Smith, and meets old timey formal academic standards.

And it's some combination of the lack of competition and government regulation that lets the companies start selling garbage to everyone.

I also tried looking up political comics from victorian times about adulterated food as it feels to me like AI slop is the cultural equivalent to finding plaster of paris in your bread.
