I'm reading the Valiant retool of Ninjak from 2017 where they changed his name from the cringey 90s "Ninjak" to Ninja-K and made up all the other MI6 Ninjas that have alphabet letters.

Ninja-G is a black woman, the first black person and woman in the ninja program. She fought the top agent for the USSR who is also a woman and they both faced similar struggles against sexism.

She falls in love with a man in MI6 and planned to retire and marry him, but MI6 had him killed & framed the Soviet agent for it in order to keep Ninja-G in the program and wanting revenge.

But Ninja-G figures out what happened when she and the Russian agent fight, and then they escape together and she fakes her death, and then they become a happy lesbian couple.

Then the two women kiss, Devotchka says "I'll start dinner, will this person be staying?" Ninja-G says "No". Then says "As I said we had a lot in common including being used by our countries. Who would wring all they could from us then cast us aside, were we inconvenient enough to survive. I'd deluded myself that I controlled my life but the only way to really have my own life for was MI6 to think I was dead. It crossed my mind to do what you're clearly considering. Destoy them utterly, but they'd just rebuild and do it again. I decided to be happy instead. It's possible even for the likes of us." Ninjak says "That's a surprise if I'm honest. Based on what you've told me about yourself, I'd have thought you'd want payback for Thomas." Ninja-G says "Oh i got it i just wasn't stupid about it."
