This is a lith print made from a grainy film negative.
The image shows a section of a concrete slab, one of many used to line the shore of a lake. As the water level in the lake has receded, the slabs are now exposed on dry land. On the surface of the slab lies a piece of cloth, which had been buried in sand and mud. After being uncovered, it has dried in the sun, its folds and creases hardened and textured, creating a striking, almost fossil-like appearance against the rough concrete.
