@Believe me, I would’ve loved to do that, but this cat seemed healthy and well fed and cared for, so I was pretty sure that wasn’t a stray.
Also I don’t want to encourage cats to come into a strange house. An acquaintance of mine once arrived in an Airbnb, only to find a terrified and starving cat that had peed and pooped all over because it had gotten into an open window while the Airbnb was being cleaned, and had then been locked inside for just under a week. Poor thing. I’m really scared of accidentally locking a cat into my home now when going on vacation etc.
That being said: I would’ve loved to adopt a kitty, but it’s just not a responsible thing to do given the current state of my life. Maybe a few years from now?
