Had to do this for my channel recently, too :(

I'd never seen it in the wild, so for anyone else who hasn't had the pleasure: YT is beginning to auto-enable AI voice "translations" of people's videos, and REPLACE the original voice with a flawed version, without warning viewers about it at all. Creators may only find out when viewers have already been driven away.

Attached: 1 image Just received an email from YouTube that they'll soon enable autodubbing on the OctoPrint channel for new and soon also old videos. Hell no, every time I run into this AI shit when watching YouTube I just want to scream, it's THAT bad. Thankfully, there's a way to opt-out, and I just did that. And if you upload stuff to YouTube, for the love of all that is holy, PLEASE disable that too! Uncheck Channel Settings > Upload defaults > Advanced Settings > Automatic dubbing

@alexglowmerlin / alex glow it also ignores my accept language headers so it serves me English AI dubs of videos in my own native languages. yt-dlp is the only usable way to watch youtube content these days.
